17 hours in Isabela

It was Sunday night at ten when Tita Tess and me left for Isabela. We arrived at about six in the morning the following day. It was an eight-hour travel. But I didn't know if I was able to have some sleep. Naps, of course. But those were intermittent so I'm not so sure what happened during the trip.

I was in a way excited because it was my first time to be in Isabela. I love to travel. But we won't be staying long. We had to leave on that night at nine or ten. Another eight hours of sitting, which I loathed but had to endure.

Our purpose of stay was to help the FJC members who will teach and assist in the Vacation Bible School (VBS) this week. My task, of course, was to teach the dance to the teachers. I was also supposed to help teach how to make the crafts and stuff, but I fell asleep. I wonder how long. What a shame.

Isabela.pngBecause of that nap, it was already late when I found out that the Cagayan River is just a walking distance away from where we stood. We couldn't go to the river because it started raining. But I promised myself that I'll be coming back. I told them I shall return.

I was also able to make friends with some people, mostly the youth. And little children? I was actually surprised when baby Elizabeth allowed me to cradle her. I was a stranger. Maybe I was able to establish rapport. But, my charms didn't work with baby Adonis though I was able to play with him that night. Peek-a-boo! We had dinner in their house with Jireh and Elle Marie.

Albeit staying in Isabela for only 17 hours, it felt like I've been there for a couple of days. I was able to sleep or have a nap, and I have eaten a lot. Better say many times. And the most surprising thing to me? I was able to make new friends.

I'd love to be back in Isabela, not just to see the Cagayan River but also to do farmworks. Maybe I'd also try swimming in the river.

I am not so familiar with Eastern Luzon because when we travel up north, it's usually in Baguio or Pangasinan, which are both in the west. It was only yesterday dawn when I fully realized that we passed through Nueva Vizcaya and Nueva Ecija. I haven't been to both places. I should really refresh my Philippine Geographic knowledge.

hi5.com

I was checking my account in hi5.com when I found out that I have posted 55 blog entries since I made an account. Well, it's now 56 entries. I've PrintScreened some of the entries so I can post them here. I'm being sentimental. XD

I've also realized that I made no entry in the year of 2007. Oh well, that was the time that I had forgotten my account details in hi5.com.

By the way, I should remind myself to rent and watch the following movies:

Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang

Twenteen-One

I went out today for some stuff. *sigh* But it's Saturday so there's no office. I ended up buying a reviewer or guide for licensure exam. Also, I was able to find the pen I've always been using. But I haven't done so lately because it's not available in most bookstores. It feels good to have that pen again.

wuthering heights.jpgAnyways, I also got a great find. I was able to buy Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Yipee! This is one of the classic works I've always wanted to have, and read. I'm glad I didn't buy Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, which I found before Wuthering Heights. I was able to buy the book for phP50.00 Awesome.

There are other books that I want to have and read. I've been craving for Breaking Dawn and I hope I'd be able to buy the book soon. *prays*

It's nice to be back. I've been away since Thursday and just got back yesterday.
Thursday: OsMak-UMak-Olongapo-Subic-Pampanga
Friday: Pampanga-Olongapo-Makati-Manila
Saturday: Makati-Manila-Makati

That was so tiresome.

I've been planning to have this day spent in Greenbelt, specially in Seattle's Best Coffee, but I wasn't able to do so because I've been tired from the previous days activities. Also, it was bloody hot that I was feeling sick. Literally. I hated it. I just decided to get home after being in Manila.

Then I remembered another important thing I was supposed to do today. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do so because I wasn't in Greenbelt. It was so annoying. I hope I'd be able to make it up tomorrow.

Goal: Trip

I want to save up for weekend or holiday trips this year. If I can't afford that yet, because of sched, I might just stroll in Makati or Pasig for recommendable restos. But then, it's still better to have a real getaway. Oh well, I might just use teh money for 7 Pilipinas' plans.

Speaking of saving up, I have a target country. It's not just about tour and such, but more on pilgrim. I want to go to Israel this year and participate in the Sukkoth or Feast of the Tabernacles.

There are really lots of places I want to visit, be it here in the Philippines or abroad.

Davao

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We had a family vacation/reunion in Davao April 21st to 4th. It was fun, but tiring. But I did enjoy. That was good enough. But then, I'm still tired. I could hardly leave our house. By the way, I haven't left our village.

I'd like to write more about our trip, but given my current situation I could hardly do so. I've uploaded some pictures during our trip so I hope they're good enough. I posted them in my blogs in: BlogSpirit and Multiply

A summary of our trip and my activities would be fine, I think.

21 April 2007
*Arrived in Davao
*Lunch in Kibuwi fast food
*Dinner in Jack's Ridge

22 April 2007
*Breakfast at the hotel
*Visited Eden Nature Park

23 April 2007
*Went to Paradise Island Beach Resort, Samal Island

24 April 2007
*Breakfast at the hotel
*Lunch in Lotus Court
*Stayed in the hotel until departure to Manila

Thinking about the recent vacation we had, I already miss Davao. I like the place. It looks so clean and nice. I want to get back there.

Boardwalk

I've just arrived from Boardwalk, Subic Bay. Yeah, I'm in Olongapo right now for our "immersion thingy" in RLE. Anyway, it was quite fun. But I'm tired enough to spill more details.

Overnight

Last Friday, we went to Pangasinan for an overnight vacation. It was in a private resort. It's one of my favourite vacations because there was nothing much to do. But still, I was missing home while being there. I just can't say, "I'd prefer to stay at home." Family first.

On that day, November 4, was my first time to ride and drive a jet ski. It was so fun. I love to jet ski. I'm actually missing it. The next day, I drove the jet ski again. If I'm not mistaken, my maximum speed is 149.7 mph. Of course, "m" doesn't stand for mile.

The day after, we went back to Manila. The trip back home didn't do me good. I was having little nausea, especially on the first days of being back here. That was so troublesome.

Pilgrim

Yester night, Tita came back from Israel attending the Feast of the Tabernacles. Oh how I wish I'd also be able to come and participate in this feast! ^_^

By the way, the day tita left the country was also my CLC. Never mind what it means. It was just ten days but I already missed. Yes, I did!

Anyway, tita gave us some pasalubong. Mine is a necklace with Star of David pendant. I was actually supposed to have the *thinks about the name* ... it's the famous "seven candles". But I'd like to have plain and simple pendant. I also like the Star of David because it also has a meaning in other religion so I chose it. Heehee...
