Nouvelle Lune
After 5 minutes on my seat yester noon, I knew I wouldn't be able to make a review about the movie. Instead of one being woven in my head, I had recollections of what it was like knowing the story a year ago. The same emotions were coming back as if I was holding the book in my hands while getting inside the head of the person whose name reminds me of the fraternité.
Perhaps it was the reason I had second thoughts about reading the novel again. I've read the first book twice. Somewhere in my head, kept hidden by my subconscious, was the knowledge that doing so will trigger sentiments that will turn on my coping mechanism. I am not being emo here for I am definitely not one.
Emotional emotions are something I hardly relate to. Another reason why I am so fond of the saga.
"Empathy is a gift," Chin Chin Gutierrez said in an interview, but she didn't mention that it comes with a price. And it's not something you can delay to pay.
When I read the book, I was quick to understand the human, the leech, and the shape-shifter. Besides the entertainment brought by fiction, I was able to understand some things and see some situations better and clearer than before. I was relieved.

Speak
Speak is a 2004 indie film starring Kristen Stewart as a high school student who became silent after being raped by an upperclassman.
When I watched this movie, I thought Stewart hasn’t changed in her acting style/skills. Maybe there were subtle changes. It was good though. It’s like if you’re a producer, director or screenplay writer looking for a particular character and would cast Stewart in your movie, you know you’re doing right. You already have an idea how Stewart will play her role. Saves you time.
Albeit having only few lines in the movie, Michael Angarano as Dave Petrakis did wonderful. Melinda said, “Dave Petrakis is my new hero.” You’d know why. He was different from every student that was in their high school. I think Angarano is an underrated actor. I’ve only seen him in two movies, but I’d say I was satisfied with him. Of course, he could’ve done more. Maybe, like Stewart, he is also intended for “particular” movies. Or maybe I should say that there are movies only meant to have Michael Angarano, and/or Kristen Stewart.
Speak is a poignat movie. I think it was very moving albeit hearing only Melinda’s point of views. Of course, there were also other conversations from other characters. Melinda does speak, but only when needed to.
Like Twilight, Speak is a narrative movie from the lead character’s point of view. I think such movies are powerful. But it is also important to empower the other pieces or factors of the movie.

Cousins' comments to Twilight
Two of my cousins watched Twilight today. I've been really curious about their reaction to the movie. One said he likes the house and his favourite character is Alice. I love Alice.
But what surprised me more is the other one's comment. It actually took me time to absorb and believe what I heard. It was not uneasy. I'm just the ever skeptic.
My other cousin: Edward is hot!
Me: O_o ..... *no comment* .....

Multiply Invitation
Someone sent me a friend-invitation in Multiply and I am wondering if I should accept. I don't know her. She said she's intrigued with the Twilight stuff. I am not really fond of adding people I don't know. I may not be a superstar or anyone famous but I love privacy. Oh well, as if she'd pry into every detail of my life. I think I'll accept the invitation, later. But if I don't, I hope she won't take it to me as being snob.
On the other hand, I am bloody troubled about some things. I am actually upset. I don't like what I am feeling right now. I can't even understand them. It's really bloody.

Twilight is like Pinakbet -- bitter gourd and bagoong and eggplant rolled into one
Pinakbet is a local dish made of vegetables, bagoong (bah-goh-ong) and animal fat. The authentic Pinakbet does not need to be stirred. And once you closed the lid, there's no way you should open it again except to fish out the dish and serve it.
Like Pinakbet -- bitter gourd and bagoong and eggplant rolled into one. What I am trying to say is that Twilight is a movie with sprinkles of suspense/thriller, comedy, and romance. But I am not a fan of the Bella-Edward romance.
I'd say it's also a family movie. If you've already watched the movie, remember how the Cullens protected Bella? I love what Carlisle said about her. It was sweet.
Twilight is a package. I also love how the beauty of the (supposedly) "Olympic Peninsula" was featured. Breath-taking.

TWILIGHT movie review
4/5
I love the movie albeit its weaknesses, and I can't wait to watch it again. Seriously. *cheering for Team Alice*
There are things I love, like and don't like in the movie. Let's start with what I don't like. By the way, this review is quite sporadic and un-polished.. O_o
NEGATIVE
*Some scenes have fast transition and they were quite troublesome. -0.5
*I think I wasn't able to see the sun and stars of the Philippine flag. :P
*When Bella was surfing the net for you-know-what, there was no link about the Philippines. Well, you can't really find a website about Danag with profound information. But I felt a little bad. Was it because RP is a third world country?
*The prom. When Bella found out Edward's taking her to the prom. The Cullens, especially Rosalie and Alice. I'm writing here like in a "telegram" because I don't like spoilers. (This disappointment cost this movie half point.)
SWITZERLAND
*Rob Pattinson. Sometimes he is so Edward Cullen, but sometimes he just makes me look for Edward. Of course, the "stupid shiny Volvo owner" was described as god-like and perfect. That's no easy task portraying him.
When James said, "You brought a snack." Edward looked like he was about to vomit. Peace, Rob! ^_^V
*I think Angela was too animated than what I pictured her to be (while reading the book).
*Jasper. He was really funny, especially with Bella around. But I think Rathbone can breathe from time to time. There's no need to be always stiff. :p
*The soundtrack. I do like the songs, when they were played in the movie. I haven't appreciated the songs before I watched the movie. Anyways, there's something about the choice of songs. I am not sure what., but I'd say they're not your typical choice for a movie whose audience range from teenagers to mid-twenties.
POSITIVE
*It was all green! I love how they showed the beauty of the "Olympic Peninsula." Breath-taking! 6/5
*Kristen Stewart. There's no denying here that Kristen did very well as Bella, especially in the ballet studio when she had the venom and when she was confined because of her injuries. 5/5
*Alice Cullen. I love Alice! Ashley did awesome as Ashley. I love how she played during the baseball game. I think Alice was the only vampire in the movie who has a musical voice, like how Stephenie Meyer described the vamps. I think Victoria/Lefevre is next to her. 7/5 I think I'm being biased here. But justified.
*Dr. Carlisle Cullen. During his first appearance, everyone in the movie house gasped. Me included. Breath-taking! Carlisle entered the ward like a Hollywood star and as someone so beautiful (in a vampire way). Facinelli portrayed Carlisle as described by Bella, and the audience's reaction was like Bella's. I give him 6/5.
*Rosalie is not your typical blonde b*tch, but you know there's more to that beauty. She's bloody dangerous. She's just not as optimistic as the rest of her family. 5/5
*Victoria. Rachelle Lefevre's feline-imitation practices paid off. I like her. 5/5
*The Cullens' cars. *dazzled*
*I like how Billy Burke portrayed Charlie Swan. It was lily-white.
-=-=-=-
There are plenty of comedy in this film, IF you've read the book. :p
I think I've seen two Midnight Sun scenes. Those may not be so loyal to MS but there were similarities. I am now more curious about the Midnight Sun shot Hardwicke said she did.

TWILIGHT Advanced Screening Tonight
Tonight will be the advanced screening of Twilight in the Philippines. I'm pretty excited. Who isn't?
I'm going to watch it at 20:30 in The Podium. I chose this place because I don't want to to be with Twilighters who are potential for OCD (Obsessive Cullen Disorer) episode. Episodes. I just want to have my moment of concentration. I hope my seatmates are not teenagers. I don't mind any adult of either gendre as long as they sit still and appreciate the movie and make the most of their phP160.00 ticket.

A Twilight Cause
Yesterday was such a nice day. First, Ate Tere kept her "promise" to treat me and my friends with Krispy Kreme Donuts. I may not be fond of this product but it was really thoughful of her. I'm not into sweet stuff. It sometimes make me literally sick. By the way, Ate Tere also gave me a Krispy Kreme canister. =)
After our Final Coaching for the NLE, some of my friends invited me to come with them to attend Victory Youth Fellowship. I decided not to come this time. I already had other plans. I was planning to attend Twilight Takes Back the Night, and I wanted to execute the plan. =p
When I got to Fully Booked, BHS, I was one of the few people who arrived first. We're around five, I guess. Oh well, it was just past five. Excited? I wonder. Haha!

The event was actually for the awareness of women's rights against abuse and violation. Well, we all have our means..

There were raffles and games and some self-defense/offense techniques and other stuff. It was fun. I actually joined two games, the first and the last. Hmm... That reminds me of the question I had to answer: What's your favourite book in the Twilight saga? My answer was "The first and the last."
The prizes were cool. Really cool! They were giving *lost count* pairs of movie passes for Twilight. Awesome. I wasn't able to win during the first game, but I thank God our group won during the last game, which was a charade. They gave each of us a pair of movie passes and books. Some were able to have a back-to-back movie poster.
The movie passes may be availed on 6th December, but it's still good because I was thinking of watching the movie at least twice. Haha! I was just hoping that I'd be able to have a movie pass for the premiere night on 25th November. Anyways, thank you so much Twilight Coven Philippines, VIVA Philippines, Fully Booked, and all the other sponsors!
Also, it was nice meeting some of the members of the Twilight Coven Philippines and other Twilighters. ^_^

Dilemma
It's almost a week since my last post so I am making an entry for today. First, I want to greet two of my friends- Jinna and Bien who are celebrating their birthday today. HABURRDEI, FRIENDS!! =)
I was finally able to tell Tita about my season's predicament. I wanted to keep something, but I guess it's important to help people understand you, a bit. Anyways, I thank God for Tita's understanding. I have so much to contemplate now.
Thinking.. I am thinking a lot lately about this and that. Stuff. Most of all, I am wondering if I should watch the premiere night of Twilight. It costs P500. I think I can force myself to save for that, just P250.00 more. But the question is do I really want to watch during the premiere night? I'm imagining myself watching Twilight with the Twilighters. Ugh! The fandom. I wonder how much decibells they'll be able to resound.
I've been planning to watch Twilight alone. I'm not yet sure where, but most likely it'll be in Shang. Greenbelt will also do. Well, that's not a priority concern right now. I just want to watch Twilight with peace. But if I get the chance to have a free ticket for the premiere night, I'll definitely be there. Haha!
If your life was all you had to give your beloved,
how could you not give it?
If it was someone you truly loved?

November Start
First, I have a web blog which I have totally forgotten until less than an hour ago. It's about my comments and thoughts about what I've read, watched and stuff.. The website is here: Matarese
Also, I've found out that I made blog entries for Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga. I didn't remember making them. Bloody. Anyways, here are the links: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse. I still haven't read Breaking Dawn so that's out of the question. But I'm going to buy the book next week. I have to! Haha.
~ ~ ~
There are quite a number of films I want to watch but I've been putting them on hold because I have to make sure that, first, I'd be able to buy Breaking Dawn and, second, I must have enough money for the Twilight movie.
My consience won't be able to take it if I watch a movie but won't be able to watch Twilight on its premiere. If I can, I might as well watch on the premiere night. Haha! The only catch is the fans. I don't want to watch with people, especially teenage girls, screaming their lungs out because of Edward Cullen. Shoot!
Anyways, I'm still deliberating should I watch on the premiere night or in private (read: not with most people). Well I guess that depends if I get to have a free screening ticket or how much cash I can save for that day.
~ ~ ~
I've just finished watching Heroes' episode 7, which is also the latest episode. Phew! A lot of characters have become unnecessarily annoying. I'd say Maya ang Mohinder belong to the top list. I may like Peter Petrelli, but he's one of those characters that really annoy me.
I'd rather watch scenes of Gabriel/Sylar, whatever name you prefer. But there are also characters that I've come to like more. Gabriel/Sylar is one of them. But I'm thinking more of Angela Petrelli. I know, she's a manipulative woman. Pretty scary. But she's making me curious. I find her interesting, minus her annoying manipulative skills.
It was also nice to see Kristen Bell again. I've always adoured Bell. Thanks to Veronica Mars. Speaking of which, I really miss it. A lot! Haha!
By the way, I found a picture of Zachary Quinto and Hayden Panettiere together. Hmm.. Is Claire leaving her Uncle Peter behind because of what grandfather did? Oh! Gabriel is also.. XOXO
