After 5 minutes on my seat yester noon, I knew I wouldn't be able to make a review about the movie. Instead of one being woven in my head, I had recollections of what it was like knowing the story a year ago. The same emotions were coming back as if I was holding the book in my hands while getting inside the head of the person whose name reminds me of the fraternité.

Perhaps it was the reason I had second thoughts about reading the novel again. I've read the first book twice. Somewhere in my head, kept hidden by my subconscious, was the knowledge that doing so will trigger sentiments that will turn on my coping mechanism. I am not being emo here for I am definitely not one.

Emotional emotions are something I hardly relate to. Another reason why I am so fond of the saga.

"Empathy is a gift," Chin Chin Gutierrez said in an interview, but she didn't mention that it comes with a price. And it's not something you can delay to pay.

When I read the book, I was quick to understand the human, the leech, and the shape-shifter. Besides the entertainment brought by fiction, I was able to understand some things and see some situations better and clearer than before. I was relieved.

Sleepless Baseball Fan

This is my Sunday, 24 May 2009..

No Sleep. I may have gone to bed, laid down and closed my eyes, but I wasn't able to have a good sleep. How could I? My cousins were concerned with our preggy dog, who gave birth an hour or so after. I was also preoccupied with the upcoming match of Yankees and Phillies. It may be scheduled at 04:05 PM EDT, but it means 04:05 AM here in Manila.

Yankees vs. Phillies. Albeit having a sleepless night, I was glad I watched their match live on ESPN. The Yankees won by 5-4! The winning home runs were so poignant. Thank You, Lord! I was also glad to see Gardner play again though it was only once. Phillies' Mayberry was admirable. I think I'll be watching him.

Review. I left 15-10 minutes before 7 this morning, still overwhelmed with Yankees' win. Because I had no sleep, I've been yawning every five minutes in class.

Angels and Demons. I watched this movie in Shangri-La this afternoon. I also watched Da Vinci Code there. I've always known that movies from novels are not always loyal to the book, but some details are just important no matter how small. I think I'll make a full review about this movie after I get a good sleep. Been awake for 39 hours now.

I should really get some sleep now. By the way, I think I might not be able to watch the next Yankees and Phillies match live. It makes me sad.

Prison Break 4-2122

I've finally watched the last two episodes of Prison Break. I am too overwhelmed, especially in the last episode, Killing Your Number. But something that happened in the Rate of Exchange made me anxious, almost driven to fear and paranoia. But the latter would be an exageration.

One of my questions was answered, but it was not enough to sustain my new questions. I don't want to talk about them. Tears are still welling around my eyes. Prison Break, from the first episode until the last one, is very overwhelming. I've been shedding tears from the pilot episode. I am not going to explain why. The reasons are mine to keep.

Not just what happened, what gathered them all in the end, make my tears keep on falling. There was also something that was left behind, something that I saw. I believe that is a stronger cause for having these tears.

"It's over." It's finally over.

I'd say I am content how Mr. Paul T. Scheuring ended Prison Break. It was poignant. Reminds me of my senior high school days, which would give the same verdict.

The much anticipated 17th episode of the 4th season of Prison Break was not satisfying. I think I'll give it a C grade. But thank goodness the next two episodes were thrilling enough and left me in big wonder. How is this season and drama going to end? What is the plan of Christina? How did Sara become what she is now? I have to remain silent about this one. And there's Michael. How he treated Christina in the 19th episode was too much for me. I feared it. and what he had almost become. Thank God I wouldn't have to be in the same shoes with the engineer.

Lincoln Burrows. Christina said it well how the two brothers are making up for each other.

Blood and water. Doesn't matter which element you belong. The truth is one's heart.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine yesterday in Greenbelt, alone.

I like the movie albeit the obvious flaws.

Graphic effects are meant to trick the eyes, unless you have the eyes of an expert in graphic effects. I've seen plenty of obvious CGIs. Too bad. There was also a scene, during the first part of the movie, when Jimmy screamed someone's name. Screams don't just disappear because sound travels. In that scene, it was immediately cut off.

There was someone that looked familiar in the movie. Agent Zero. And I just found out last night who it was. Impressive. He did well. I think Daniel Henny should do more roles like that.

The story of Logan and Silverfox was touching. I also like the Moon's story.

After watching the movie, I feel like watching it again, looking forward to another featured mutant.

Society Issues

Society, wherever you may be, is corrupted. But it doesn't always have to be the government who should be blamed.

I just finished reading F. Sionil Jose's Ermita. Such a poignant novel! I'd like to quote the author himself when his novel has been translated into Korean. “This novel is more of a metaphor about the prostitution of Filipinos and the decay of our society. The story has a universal theme because all over the world many people are prostitutes without knowing it." I have bookmarked some quotes in the novel but I haven't posted them online. Not yet.

Another society issue that perturbs me, though it has done so before, is the injustice to the natives of the land, be it here in the Philippines or abroad. I just finished watching the nineteenth episode of CSI: NY season 5. It upsets me everytime I hear or know that natives have been deprived of their rights.

I appreciate how CSI: NY features issues in the society. There was another episode where they featured an issue about an e-waste dumpsite in China. I can't remember the name of the place but it was definitely loathesome. This is a link in National Geographic's website. It has no connection with the CSI: NY episode.

As for present issues, I cannot elaborate each of those that I know. I quite have a short memory. But there's this thing about a Guantanamo prison in Cuba. I don't really have any idea about this issue, but I will do my research. Having watched Prison Break changed my way of thinking towards inmates. Guilty or not, it is not right to throw any prejudice to any of them. NGC will feature it tomorrow, 05 April 2009. I can't wait to watch it.

We live in a rotten world but that doesn't justify any negligence to these issues, as well as to those I have not mentioned. And before I forget, Darfur is still in malady.

Prison Break S04E01-16

So, I've finally watched the sixteen episodes of Prison Break season 4. Could hardly wait for April 17. But I am going to be patient for those fifteen days. I have a new perturbing reaction to stress/anxiety, thanks to this season.

I do have some questions about the veracity of some scenes in these sixteen episodes. Those that I remember are the following:
*Where were Sara's scars when they were in Las Vegas? She wore a dress that exposed her back and there was no trace of Gretchen's inflictions. Make-up? Probably.
*I doubt the sterile integrity of The Company's operating room. Said they have advanced technology but they're too lax about the risk of infection or whatsoever.
*And Sara.. She didn't bother and was not reprimanded when she touched Michael's head. Yeah, yeah, they prepped him again.
*How could Michael keep his balance within that day? Yes, the operation was on his head but I doubt he'd never have dizziness after that. He was even pacing.
*I am curious of how great Michael's brain is. He got into operation, cranial op, so his brain should rest a little. But when he woke up, he was discussing elements to Sara.

There's also one curious thought I have, but it's for the second season: What happened to Paul Kellerman?

I've noticed that during even seasons, the humane side of Bagwell comes out. In the second season, he called 911 so his beloved will be rescued. In this season, he savoured his new identity and wanted to embrace it so he could start a new life. T-Bag also showed mercy to Rita and Gretchen. We know Bagwell is a psychopath, but he's psychopath with a plan. Yet he sometimes become unpredictable.

I like what DB Cooper said. Not everything is as it seems.

Watching the sixteenth episode reminded me of Mahone's words. It's easier to die than watch someone else die.

By the way, I am glad to see Lisa again. Knew she'd show up.

Prison Break season 3

I finished watching the third season last Saturday but I didn't know what to write. I still don't.

Prison Break season 3 was as thrilling as the previous seasons, but I'd say it's not a favourite. Perhaps it's because Sara was not around.

Watching Mahone almost go through self-destruction was quite traumatic. It gave me a glimpse of what it's like to be a junkie. I hate dependence and I'd do everything in my power to keep myself from such fiasco.

The breakout plans were admirable. But of course, each plan was interdependent with external forces. It was amazing how the last plan was pulled off.

Prison Break season 2

I've always thought that thriller stories are only available in novels. In that case, I could only think of Robert Ludlum. But I was wrong. Definitely wrong.

The second season of Prison Break was all about chasing and being chased. My heart was also racing I could hardly catch up. I have to admit, I got carried away by poignant scenes whenever death, or better say murder, was anticipated. More than the obvious anxieties the characters went through, there were also deeper sense to them. Every scenario reminded me of the gravity of life. And I'd say I thank God for giving me a strong heart so I could handle such veracity.

The hunt may have driven me crazy, but it was fun.

There were also scenes that touched me deeply. Seriously, this season is very poignant. I feel sorry for what happened to John Abruzzi. A reaction I also have in The Godfather. I pity Tweener and Haywire. I hate T-bag, but I wanted him to stay alive. He's like a habanero. You'd love to hate the guy. As for C-Note, I'm relieved for him. I wish Sucre buenaswerte.

Of course, there were scenes that I love. I think I want to call them sweet moments. And yes, it isn't hard to guess that they're about Michael and Sara. I like, better say love, the conversation between the two of them in episode 10: Rendezvous. So touching, whatever meaning you give to the word. I like what Sara said. "I don't wanna be alone." It was her response to Michael's, "I don't want you to be alone in this."

The strongest people in the world are not immune to loneliness. Everyone needs someone.

There was also this episode where Sara had to make a sacrifice. It reminded me of what Svetlana Baranova did. The Tristan Betrayal. Bon Jovi was right, words can't tell what love can do.

Of course, who would forget Alexander Mahone, the new guy in the season. I only have one word for him- nemesis. I like his character. Except for the fact that he's such an analyst, he also got issues in his past. If Scofield thinks about the future, Mahone worries about the past. As a result, they have a pretty twisted present.

And there's Paul Kellerman. I'm glad that his magazine got jammed. Am also curious about what happened to him in the last episode.

Watching the third season is just a matter of time. I can't wait for that. Too bad I've got some things to attend to. I also need to give the TV and DVD player a rest. I've been up till three or four this morning.

I choose to have faith. Because without that, I have nothing.

Mini Dress in the House

I'm pretty bothered today. I am wearing a mini dress, quite fit. I don't usually mind wearing clothes like this; in fact, you might even be surprised to see me wear clothes like this. But I am in Antipolo right now. I've embraced solitude. The only places I go to in this house are the basement room, living room and kitchen. Oh, the facilities of course. I don't share this areas with others, except for the kitchen. When and if I expose myself under the sun, without the shelter of the roof, I just do so to hang my laundry.

So, what happened? I got exposed to other people wearing this mini fit dress. I don't mind our cook. She's a lady. But the others were of the opposite sex. I'm not used to having audience when I wear this. But I do like wearing this.

Btw, at half an hour past eight tonight my right eye stung. Usually, it's my left eye. Tonight, it was subtle. I wonder what happened to right eye that it followed left eye. Whatever. I love my eyes. I want them to be healthy.

One more thing. I watched House season 1 again today. Haha! I haven't finished it, again, but it was fun.
