Secret Window

medium_secret-window.jpg

Following a bitter separation from his wife (Bello), famed mystery writer Mort Rainey (Depp) is unexpectedly confronted at his remote lake house by a dangerous stranger named John Shooter (Turturro). Claiming Rainey has plagiarized his short story, the psychotic Shooter demands justice. When Shooter's demands turn to threats - and then murder - Rainey turns to a private detective (Dutton) for help. But when nothing stops the horror from spiraling out of control, Rainey soon discovers he can't trust anyone or anything.

I saw this on Video City last week and reckoned of checking it later. Besides, it's a psychiatric suspense/thriller. Although Depp's casting affected my decision to watch this, I had no intention to be bias.

I like the plot. It was interesting, and new to me. I was also quite fond of Depp's acting skills. As usual, especially being Captain Jack Sparrow. Speaking of the pirate, there was just quite a border which separates Mort Rainey and Captain Jack Sparrow. Both looked quite the same to me. But I still prefer Captain Jack Sparrow.

While watching the movie, I was trying to figure out who was behind the villain. I forgot that it was Depp here. It's known that he only takes characters who interest him. I forgot that.
